Christmas pudding, glazed ham, lots of fresh bread with butter, that yummy blue cheese, homemade Christmas sweets, chocolate, dry fruit, eggnog, prosciutto, yummy salad dressings, custard, ice cream, cream, wine, champagne, sweet liqueurs …then double or triple this with the number of festive days plus add post-event cleaning up the “mess” in the fridge….yes, we’ve done it again. If, like me, you also promised yourself that this time, you will eat and drink responsibly yet you failed (just like me) and your belly now looks like one of a four months pregnant woman and you are terrified because your New Year’s Eve outfit is too tight I hope this article brings some fear and also solution to this situation.
Admittedly, I’m horrified that I did it again… but I won’t be beating myself up because of it – instead I will minimise the impact by taking action today. Because you know, it’s all about how you continue after these indulging few days. If you continue eating with this tempo until after New Year’s celebrations, you will have to work very hard to get back in shape by summer. That’s a fact. Instead use these few days in between to give your body bit of a break and a chance to recover.
So here is my post Christmas indulgence action plan:
1 – I know Dukan diet plan works for me. So as far as my diet is concerned until New Year’s Eve, I’m doing dukan diet attack phase. This means eating pure protein, no fat, carbs, salt or sugar for 3 days and drinking lots of water to help with water retention and elimination of burned fat cells. If you try it I’m confident you will see and feel quick results as well.
2 – I hate it, but I know it helps, so I will make an effort to get up 15 min earlier for a speedy metabolism-kick-ass thigh and butt workout before my first meal. If you do this, your metabolic rate will be increased through our all day. You will notice your energy levels will be elevated and you will be more active and you will burn more calories.
3 – I will keep away from alcohol or soft drinks and drink plenty of green tea or water. If you do that, I can guarantee that only after one day you will notice how lighter you feel, less bloated with more energy to stick to this short post Christmas indulgence recovery plan.
So this is it – simple, short and proven to work – there is no reason not to try it…
Oh, do I hear you have a reason? More social functions to attend…Well you can still do the metabolism-kick-ass thigh and butt workout in the morning. If you only do this part of the action plan, you have done yourself a great favour. As for your diet, eat light before and after your celebration meals. Don’t just say “O well, I won’t be able to eat healthy today, so I might as well just forget about it. It doesn’t matter…” It does, so do the right thing when you can.
Enjoy your New Year celebrations and repeat this plan few days after to get back on track.
If you need to lose more then festive weight gain, I strongly advise you to try dukan diet plan – because it works
